Survey

We only had time for one survey, instead of 2, so we chose to make it the best that we could

We learnt from this survey that younger people tend to do piracy more than older people, as only 2 30+  year old people answered it. We also learnt that maybe we should target boys more than girls, as there were more boys who answered it. And mostly the internet cause the people to pirate the movies and music they pirate. Also, not one person answered no to doing digital piracy, out of 10 people who answered the survey.

Target Audience

Target audience

Our target audience would be around 14-18, as that age range needs to be targeted more, and we understand them the best, as we are in the middle of that age range, and we would therefore be the easiest to make the group for, and it is easiest

Storyboard

This is our storyboard. I'm not the best of drawers, plus my handwriting isn't the best, but this still shows off our film to a pretty good level. It was made when the film featured more actors, but it's still good for showing off what I planned the film to be, and what it ended up being

Presentations

This is our presentation. We learnt from this presentation that I am pretty quiet, so I need to learn to have more confidence in myself and speak up louder than I do currently. And another idea is that Charles could keep to the script a bit more, as I got a bit confused about what to say, but I could also have my part in this by remembering my lines better than I did, as that means that I could have improvised better than what I did. The notes also say I should look at the audience more than I did, which I completely agree with.

This is our second Presentation. I believe it is an improvement on the first, as it had fixed all the original problems the first one had, and got less advice about the things we got advice on last time, so it is at least a slight improvement. I do feel like it could have gone better, however it did go fairly well

Product ideas

We have come up with ideas for the 3 products

The first of them will be two webpages. Me and Charles have been working on them at the same level, and therefore they show both of our work evenly

The second of which is a website, which will feature 4 pages, which we will both work on 2 each, evenly spreading the work.

Finally, we are starting work on our film, which will feature both of us, and some friends, meaning the work is spread evenly.

We will film the film trailer around baldock, and places like weston woods, and Ivel Springs will feature heavily. We will also feature conversation scenes in baldock itself, and surrounding areas will also feature in the film. We will shoot some photo first, to see what the place looks like on camera, and if it looks bad or good.

Researching existing campaigns in style

As we are going an website and a very short film, I looked at an existing example of both.

Website

For the website, I looked at the most famous example, F.A.C.T, which stands for the Federation Against Copyright Theft, whose's adverts are featured at the beginning of almost any DVD you can buy now.

This is the home page. As you can see, it seems to be optimized to work well both on computer and mobile, as it has big buttons which would be helpful for people with touchscreens to press, but it also worlds with a mouse, showing it can work even if you have a touchscreen.

This is the page 'How to stay legal' from the F.A.C.T website. It gives you tips about buying real DVD's, warning that if you buy from car boots and similar, you might not be buying from the real deal, and therefore, not giving the original productm as they wouldn't be licensed to sell the product from the original creator, and therefore it would be harder to tell if it an official product, with the person contributing to the original creator, or just making money for themselves, so the site is giving you guidelines.

Lastly, there is this page, about being safe on the internet. It talks about file sharing websites, and while their intentions might be good, they almost always include bad stuff like malware, spyware, and similar. It also gives you good websites that give you even more information on what the file sharing websites can do to your computer

There are more pages to this website, but I've picked 3 to not overwelm the information on this.

2-4 Min film

I found it hard to find a film like the one I plan to make, but I found similar, though shorter.
(This is a place holder until when I can get the video)
It shows a video of an actor giving people dvds, but if they take them, the person next to him loses her job. It shows two people he is giving the dvds to. They may or may not be actors, but that doesn't really matter.
The man takes them, and acts like he doesn't care, or he might just not care.
The lady feels sorry, and doesn't take the dvds

The seller is obviously an actor, and calls the man 'everything wrong with the world', but tells the lady 'she didn't know'
While I want mine to be a bit more believable, this isn't far off what I want my film to be like.
