I have thought of 3 different names for the campaign.
Copyright Heroes was our original choice, but we decided that since that the original choice was the name on the brief, we were actually working for that company, and shouldn't use that.
Copyright Protecters was the second one we thought of, as it is similar to copyright heroes, but it is different enough to use, but it is a bit boring
Copyright inc was another idea we had. We liked the name, but we decided that it sounded like we were the people enforcing the copyright, and not just the people protecting it.
We ended up deciding on Copyright Protectors, as it is different enough from the original, and we didn't need to completely redesign the logo we had made for when the name was copyright heroes.
We also had 3 ideas towards the slogan
'Protecting what's yours'- This was the third one we thought of. We went with this one, as it is actually catchy, and it sums up what we plan to do, but still isn't boring.
'Stopping the pirates'- We thought that this is true, as this is the point, however it isn't that catchy.
'Ending copyright theft' This has the same problems as the one before, as it is pointing out what we are doing, however isn't that catchy.
These are 3 logos we created. The first one shows a C and a H, showing our early name as Copyright Heroes. The main difference is the colour, early on we decided on a blue colour, as Blue and Red contrast very well. However, blue has males undertones, and the message is that everyone could be a pirate. That is why we changed it to the second one. This shows the same text, just with a black background, which is more gender neutral, but we decided to seperate ourselves, we needed a different name, which required a different name, leading to the final logo, which feature a C instead of a P, because of the name changes from Heroes to Protectors.
So the final choice of name is Copyright Protectors, which will spread around the name of Copyright Heroes, as it is closely linked to that name, and it will stick in the minds of teens, as it is simple to remember.
The final choice of slogan is 'Protecting what's yours' as it is also simple to remember, and it is also showing that copyright affects everyone, using the 'yours', and it also shows that piracy is genuine theft.
The final choice of logo is the bottom one of the 3 below, as it links to the name, as it has a C and a P, following Copyright Protecters, and it also sticks in the mind of our target audience as the colours contrast, and it features gender neutral colours, showing that boys are no more likely to be pirates than girls.
